Physical education leads to physical literacy, which is essential for child development. Firstly, Active for Life promotes physical literacy. PowerPlay adheres to two emergent Canadian movements that work cohesively: Active For Life and Canadian Sport for life. It began as an on-ice program emphasizing the integration of power skating and skills training and has now developed into a multi-faceted hockey development program. PowerPlay Hockey, formerly PowerPlay Sports Camp, opened its doors in 2000.
